Temple Announcements/ Key Updates
We are pleased to announce a one-of-a-kind collaboration between The Hindu Jain Temple & ISKCON New Vrindaban, Together with local community partners and food vendors, we will be hosting a beautiful eight-hour Akhanda Kirtan on Saturday called SANGAM MELA, February 28, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Hindu Jain Temple.
This Mela signifies the first confluence of the various gatherings in Pittsburgh! We invite you to join us for as much time as you are able—one hour, five hours, or the full eight hours. Come as you are. Come with an open heart. Sit, chant, meditate, and leave your cares aside for a little while.
We assure you a memorable and spiritually refreshing day—especially in the presence of a world renowned kirtan singer from Trinidad and Tobago—His Grace Agnidev Prabhu. He will be accompanied by Krishna Presthaya—an incredibly sweet Swiss/Armenian kirtaneer, Vrindavan Priya from Czechoslovakia, Devananda from Montreal, Nairoshni from Guyana, Manasa from India, Ashley from USA, Manohar from Nepal, and our inspiring younger kirtaneers—Om, Srinidhi, Kavin, Moyuri, Banu, Nanda, Rasapriya, and many more.
Families are welcome. There will be opportunities for engagement throughout the program, including activities for children and youth. Food vendors will be offering meals, snacks, and refreshments for purchase during the day, so you can relax and enjoy without worry.
Most importantly, please join us in creating a powerful expression of community through the chanting of the holy names of Krishna. Let us begin this new year together in peace, gratitude, and joy.
Thank you for your continued support and association.

TEMPLE RE-INAUGURATION
This weekend (Aug 10th & 11th), the Hindu-Jain Temple of Monroeville, Pittsburgh, celebrated its 40th anniversary with a grand temple inauguration event. Founded in 1984 by revered spiritual leader H.H. Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati, this temple is one of the earliest Hindu temples in the United States. It is globally unique as the first temple where Hindus and Jains worship together. This weekend’s event brought together the Greater Pittsburgh community to honor the temple’s rich legacy. The celebration began with the "Shikhar Puja," a sacred ritual where H.H. Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati and Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, were lifted by cranes to pour consecrated water on the temple’s five domes. They were joined by the temple’s executive committee, board of trustees, and long-standing supporters, including Nick Patel, Vice-Chairman of the temple, who led the recent renovation project that culminated in this re-inauguration, Chetan Patel, Past-President and Secretary, Madhu Verma, President, Shubha Mallick, Chairwoman and so many supporters from the temple’s community. This ceremony symbolized the temple’s renewal and ongoing spiritual mission.
